    Hi Mahesh,

I have exported a dmp file to a 10g client and am also getting the following error when I try to import it from a 11g client to a specific db of 10g.

IMP-00058: ORACLE error 942 has occurred
ORA-00942: pen or view does not exist
IMP-00058: ORACLE error 942 has occurred
ORA-00942: table or perception does not exist

It works fine if or when I import it from another 11g client to a 11g 10g server and even from a client to a 10g server. But almost all of our client machines are 11g, and servers are usually 10g. So I have to make sure it works.

You noted that you should install the views below to fix this. Can you elaborate on this?

    Thank you
    Sharmin

    Hello Bhadresh,

I checked this and the website where it says
    Export_From—–Import_To—–Export_Version_to_Use—–Import_Version_to_Use
Version 10.2—–Download data from version 11.2—–Export data transfer from version 10.2—–Import version 11.2

    In my case Import_To is 10.2 and Export_From is 10.2. However Import_Version_to_Use is 11.2.

If you look at my log, you will see that the export was done with 10.2 and the import with 11.2.

Use the 10g responder to import into any 10g database.

    Hi Joy/Michael,

I used a 10g person on a 10g server and an 11g site visitor on an 11g server. Both work well.
The problem is that I need an installer a great snippet of code that imports a spreadsheet.
Every company should do this. Our company recently upgraded all of these clients to 11g, but the server remains at 10g.
So is there any way to import updated dmp file from 11g client to 10g server?

    Thank you
    Charmin

    This question often remains unclear.
You can’t import a real 11g export file into a 10g database (unless you’re lucky).
